for ourselves. Siegel is a consultant with many years as a therapist, public

speaker and discussion leader.

“SNAFU”

Maine residents Michael Menes and Leland Faulkner both make their livelihoods as professional variety entertainers. Michael has been a juggler for over 30 years with appearances worldwide, including Cirque du Soleil’s Solstrom Series. Leland is a character actor, magician and mime artist. His career has included work with The Polar Express and several international stops in China, Japan and Russia.

“HOT FIDDLE”
ASHLEY LIBERTY & DANIEL STRANGE

Violinist Ashley Liberty and pianist Daniel Strange return to the Sawyer Memorial. Together, the two brilliant artists will perform an entire show of smokin’ fast, exciting, foot-stomping music! The duo also includes Vivaldi’s famous “Summer” movement from the Four Seasons and for a cool-down moment, a gorgeous arrangement of “Shower the People” by James Taylor. Returning to the Sawyer Memorial for the first time in five years, Ashley and Daniel are always a great time and a fantastic performance!

Humorist - Tim Sample

His unique New England style of humor has gained him a national following. When introducing Tim on ABC’s Good Morning America, Charles Gibson referred to him as, “The man who wrote the book (literally) on Maine humor!” In addition to TV, radio, albums and writing/illustrating over a dozen books, Sample still finds time to perform all throughout the United States.

“MAINE AT GETTYSBURG”

Attacked by Confederate soldiers from Alabama and Texas throughout the afternoon and evening on July 2, 1863, Col. Joshua Chamberlain and the men of the 20th Maine hold their ground, then, outnumbered and out of ammunition, the order is given to fix bayonets and prepare to charge. Lambertfilms was founded by filmmaker Daniel Lambert, a native Mainer, and is committed to making history come alive for modern
audiences. Former Maine State Archivist David Cheever will be alongside filmmaker Daniel Lambert for a Q&A after the film.

This group will bring down the house with a powerful mix of Motown/Memphis Soul Music that’s guaranteed to get the party started! This is a 100% Old School Soul Revue complete with outstanding female singers, a full horn section and a show that will knock your socks off! The band covers Soul Classics from Sam and Dave, the Supremes, Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, the Staple Singers and the Queen of Soul – Aretha Franklin. This is a Soul Train dance party and a history of Soul Music all in one AMAZING show!

Stepping in last second to save the day due to a scheduling mishap last summer, Barney returns to the Sawyer Memorial for 2023 in his own right! Barney has been a multi-talented actor, voice actor, comedian and singer-songwriter for over 40 years. After two decades with his band Coos Canyon and comedy trio The Maine Hysterical Society, he is back to his solo acoustic roots performing a collective of classic songs
as well as a tribute to James Taylor. A must see for all JT fans!

FROGTOWN MOUNTAIN
PUPPETEERS: "EVERYBODY LOVES PIRATES"

Children’s Day Program

8-year-old Lucy and her goofy pal Little Chucky are searching for buried treasure, but a gang of bumbling pirates keeps getting in the way! The show features 15 hand-crafted puppets and an eight-foot paper mache pirate ship. Great for all ages, especially ages 4 and up.

FOOD TRUCK SOCIAL

Stop by for an afternoon of great entertainment and fun! Local food trucks will descend on our large parking lot ready to share their cuisine with you. Come listen to live music as the Sandy River Ramblers play Bluegrass music with a distinctly Maine flavor. There will be games, prizes and so much more! The first 100 people to attend will receive a $5
voucher to use at any of the food trucks for this event. Bring the family, bring yourself, but you do not want to miss this one! Seating will be provided. This event is rain or shine.

THE 1950’S AND 60’S THROUGH
POPULAR SONG”

This NY Blues Hall of Fame Inductee will be your guide for a trip through those memorable and colorful decades of the 1950’s & 60’s, all woven together in song. Along with Marc’s wife, Susan, this two-person show is a multi-media and multi-dimensional presentation in song, storytelling, and plenty of laughter! From bobby socks, through the space race, and on to civil rights and classic rock, audiences have found this show to be entertaining, inspirational and even a bit educational!

Narrated by retired Maine Park Ranger Supervisor, Tim Caverly, the audience will virtually canoe the 92-mile Allagash River and hear the lore and legends from Maine’s wilderness.
Caverly’s presentations are always both informative and fun! Funded in part by the Maine Humanities Council.
